Job Description

Loudoun County's Department of Finance and Budget is seeking qualified candidates with strong analytical and supervisory skills who thrive in a fast-paced work environment to fill a full-time position of Financial Manager. This position manages special projects for the department and oversees the County's accounts receivable and Oracle supplier and vendor database. It will also manage the internal audit function and contract for the County as part of its future responsibilities.

Essential functions include providing ongoing evaluation of internal controls focused on fraud prevention; researching and providing technical assistance and guidance for special projects and board initiatives; developing the Popular Annual Financial Report; performing complex analyses and financial modeling; recommending and updating policies and procedures based on best practices; conducting training sessions; performing internal reviews of financial transactions; and developing departmental performance measures. Supervises a staff of two employees.

HIRING RANGE: $76,468.91-$105,144.75

Salary Commensurate with Experience

Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; five years of related work experience, including one year of team lead or supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong verbal, written communication and presentation skills are necessary. Knowledge of principles of governmental accounting and public sector finance is preferred. Prior experience working with a major ERP system, such as Oracle, in a medium to large organization is desirable.
