Cyber Risk Savvy Version 2.0

Local governments are attractive targets for cybercriminals for several reasons. Many are considered soft targets because their networks often lack robust security protections. In addition, local governments manage large volumes of sensitive information, including tax records, voter data, employee Social Security numbers, and citizen and employee health-related information, making them particularly vulnerable to cyberattacks. This new research, an update of our original Cyber Risk Savvy report and conducted in collaboration with the Center for Digital Government, highlights how to be a smart customer of cyber insurance.
