Nikki Simmons

 As chief financial officer for El Paso County, Colorado, Nikki Simmons helped to guide the county’s 2025 budget to unanimous approval, ensuring essential investments in roads, stormwater systems, public safety, and infrastructure while continuing long-term financial health. She also worked to secure funding for a new Sheriff’s substation to support the county’s growing population. Deputy CFO Amanda Grant shared, “Nikki’s approach to budgeting goes beyond numbers—she considers the long-term impact on the community, ensuring that investments in infrastructure, public safety, and other services meet the growing needs of El Paso County.” Nikki is recognized for promoting financial literacy across departments, mentoring staff, and creating a culture where complex financial concepts are made accessible to everyone.
