Tami Robison
Finance Director, Geary County, Kansas
Tami Robison joined Geary County in 2021 as its first finance director, stepping into a newly created role to help strengthen oversight, streamline operations, and improve transparency. She has led major financial reforms—from reducing the county mill levy by fifteen mills to securing a $30 million bond for critical hospital maintenance with no added taxpayer impact. Working closely with county leaders, she implemented a wage study with full compression, transitioned Sheriff’s deputies to an improved retirement system, launched a comprehensive capital improvement plan, supported enhancements to the county’s investment portfolio, and revised financial policies to increase accountability. Her efforts also contributed to an improved S&P Global rating from A to A+. County Commissioner Trish Giordano remarked, “In my opinion, Tami is nothing short of a fiscal miracle worker.”
