Treasury Notice to SLFRF Recipients

On March 25, the U.S. Treasury Department issued an alert to all recipients of Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (SLFRF) awards, informing of Treasury’s intention to “vigorously monitor” recipient obligations by the December 31, 2024 deadline. In particular, the notice expressed Treasury’s intention to perform compliance checks to ensure SLFRF awards were used in accordance with program requirements, as well as whether recipients obligated the funds by the deadline. Finally, based on the latest reporting data available, the Treasury will be sending instructions on how to return unobligated funds to those SLFRF recipients who did not fully obligate their award funds by the December 31, 2024, deadline.
