In January 2025, the U.S. Department of Justice issued a final rule on the Americans with Disabilities Act Title II Web. The rule clarifies the law that requires state and local governments to make their public‑facing websites, apps, and digital services accessible to people with disabilities. In implementing this rule, GFOA member governments will have to address the application of the law to transactions and display data that is financial in nature, including publishing ACFRs. Implementation of this law may require sustained investment and coordination across departments.

Join GFOA on Tuesday, February 24, at 1:00 PM ET, for a free just-in-time webinar, as legal and policy experts will break down what this rule means for finance officers.
