Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited educational institution in Accounting, Finance or other business- related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years experience in accounting, preferably governmental accounting with an emphasis on School Boards.
- Certified Public Accountant preferred.
- Supervisory experience is essential.
Summary
The Accounting Supervisor provides leadership and oversight of key accounting operations, including accounts payable, internal accounts, and financial reporting. This position ensures the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of the District’s financial transactions in compliance with state and federal regulations. The role supports audit activities, assists with preparation of the Annual Financial Report (AFR) and Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR), and contributes to the implementation of Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) requirements. The Accounting Supervisor also supervises staff and partners with schools and departments to promote strong internal controls and sound financial practices.
