Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or related field
- 5+ years demonstrated supervisory experience.
- Extensive experience discussing and presenting budget recommendations, data analysis, and forecasting in a public venue with the public, staff, and elected government officials.
- Advanced financial data modeling skills
Preferences
- Master of Public Administration (MPA) or related master’s level degree.
- 10+ years of demonstrated process or project management experience.
- 15+ years demonstrated experience providing professional data analysis, recommendations, project administration, staff, public & Council presentations, and/or budget monitoring.
- Public sector experience
Summary
Leads the shaping of the City's financial future by overseeing every facet of the annual budget process — from developing strategic budget recommendations for the Executive team to facilitating internal budget committees and presenting the final plan to City Council. Drives the management of capital budgets, while spearheading efforts in resource planning, revenue forecasting, fund analysis, procurement, grant administration and working with finance to issue debt. Collaborates closely with Executive leadership and City Council to define and advance the City’s long-term vision, strategic priorities, and financial sustainability. Supports the department in operating budget initiatives.
