The Missouri Development Finance Board (MDFB) is soliciting resumes for a new Executive Director.
MDFB was created by Missouri statute (sections 100.250 to 100.297 and 100.700 to 100.850) in 1982 as a body corporate and politic. MDFB provides a diverse array of financing programs to carry out its mission of facilitating economic and infrastructure development projects. The Board administers eight programs, which include:
- Revenue Bonds for Private Commercial and Nonprofit Projects;
- Revenue Bond for Public Infrastructure Projects;
- Missouri Tax Credit for Contributions;
- Tax Credit Bond Enhancement Program;
- BUILD (Business Use Incentives for Large-Scale Development) Missouri Program;
- Missouri Infrastructure Development Opportunities Commission (MIDOC) Loan Program;
- Small Business Loan Program; and
- Direct Loan Program.
MDFB also has one component unit known as the St. Louis Convention Center Hotel Community Improvement District (CID) and St. Louis Convention Center Hotel Transportation Development District Fund (TDD).
All of MDFB’s work corresponds to and supports its mission to benefit the citizens of the State of Missouri.
MDFB has seven employees and is comprised of twelve (12) voting members. Eight (8) are volunteer members appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Missouri Senate. Missouri’s Lieutenant Governor and Directors of the Departments of Economic Development, Agriculture and Natural Resources serve as ex-officio voting members.
MDFB’s next Executive Director must have a strong background in economic development with a track record of successfully navigating complex economic development projects to completion, strong financial acumen with previous experience working with tax credits, excellent communication skills, the ability to work well with a diverse group of external stakeholders in Missouri and beyond, and the ability to effectively manage a talented staff of committed professionals.
The position is situated at MDFB’s office in Jefferson City, Missouri. It offers excellent benefits, and has an annual salary range between $110,000 and $140,000.
