Monterey One Water (M1W) is a public wastewater and water recycling agency focused on providing safe, resilient water solutions to the 10 cities/special districts it represents in northern Monterey County. Reporting to the CFO, the Controller leads the Finance Department, which includes accounting, accounts payable, cash and investment management, budget development and administration, debt administration, payroll, and purchasing, while supporting utility billing, accounts receivable, and grant administration. The ideal candidate is a seasoned, collaborative finance and accounting professional with strong leadership and communication skills. A typical path to qualifying for this position includes a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or public administration, plus 5 years of directly relevant work experience and 5 years of supervisory experience. Desirable qualifications include: public sector experience, GFOA, CSMFO, CPA, CMA, CMTA, APT US&C.
Salary: $152,796 - $195,000, DOQ, plus benefits.
