What will you do in this position?
- Payroll Processing & Accuracy – Ensure timely and precise payroll execution, including auditing submitted hours, resolving discrepancies, and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations, while responding professionally to internal customer inquiries.
- Regulatory Compliance & Audits – Work alongside the Payroll Supervisor to uphold payroll policies and procedures, ensure alignment with benefit changes, participate in audits, and support reporting processes.
- Payroll System Expertise – Act as the subject matter expert in payroll systems, collaborating with IT to troubleshoot issues, implement system updates, and optimize performance.
- Data Management & Integrity – Maintain accurate payroll records by managing employee updates (hires, terminations, deductions, tax adjustments) and ensuring data integrity across automated systems.
- Vendor and System Collaboration – Work with IT and external providers to implement payroll-related software, assess system upgrades, and enhance payroll system functionality.
- Advanced Reporting & Analytics – Generate payroll reports, including statistical analyses and financial summaries, while responding timely to external audit inquiries.
A successful candidate in this position will:
1. Technical Proficiency
• Expertise in automated payroll systems and software applications, particularly Excel and database tools.
• Advanced proficiency with payroll and timekeeping systems, spreadsheets, and reporting tools.
• Strong understanding of federal and state payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance standards.
2. Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze technical and numerical data, identify discrepancies, and implement solutions.
3. Communication: Clear and professional verbal and written communication, capable of conveying complex information effectively to diverse audiences.
4. Problem-Solving: Strong ability to troubleshoot systems and technical issues, ensuring timely resolution.
