Job Description

The City of West Hollywood invites applicants for the position of Budget Officer with the Finance & Technology Services Department, Administration Division. The ideal candidate will possess demonstrated experience in working with all departments to coordinate and prepare the City’s biennial operating and capital improvement budget. Strong internal and external customer service skills and excellent analytical, computer, written and verbal communication skills are necessary for success in this position. The successful candidate will have experience explaining and providing details of the recommended budget, including revenue projections and expenditure estimates. Additionally, background and experience working independently in a municipal setting is ideal. Experience using ClearGov or other budget software programs, specifically for a public entity, is desirable.

The Position:

Under general direction, the Budget Officer develops, coordinates and directs the City's budget preparation; assesses, evaluates, develops, implements and monitors budget policies, systems and procedures; provides high level and complex technical staff assistance to City management; and performs related work as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in a related field; Master’s degree in related field is preferable; and,
  • Four to five years of progressively responsible related experience; or,
  • Any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.

Salary: $125,355.96 - $160,181.64 Annually
