Job Description
The Mount Prospect Public Library is seeking a skilled Finance Manager to lead and oversee our financial operations. This is a key leadership role responsible for managing the library’s $11+ million budget and ensuring strong financial stewardship in support of our mission.
As Finance Manager, you will supervise a team of four, including a Staff Accountant, Bookkeeper, and two Administrative Assistants, while guiding the organization’s financial strategy, reporting, and compliance.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
- Manage and mentor a team of finance and administrative staff
- Ensure compliance with governmental accounting standards and regulations
- Provide strategic financial insights to support organizational decision-making
- Maintain and improve financial systems and processes
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of finance/accounting experience, with prior management experience preferred
- Experience in public accounting and governmental fund accounting (required)
- Familiarity with Blackbaud Financial Edge software (highly desirable)
- Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills
