Job Description

The City of New Rochelle is seeking an experienced and qualified individual to serve as Deputy Finance Commissioner. The position reports directly to the Finance Commissioner.

Responsibilities include supervision and oversite of multiple areas within the Finance Department including budget, internal audit, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, purchasing, tax collection, and risk management. Supervision is exercised over a number of professional staff members.

The successful candidate will have through knowledge and understanding of public finance and revenue collection, experience in public administration, effective communications skills, ability to organize and direct the activities of subordinates, and impeccable integrity.

The position’s minimum qualification requirements are a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance (Master Degree preferred) with at least 5 years’ experience in the Public Sector in a similar role. Experience with Tyler Technologies Munis financial software is preferred
