District Accountant/Business Office Specialist - Exempt

The District Accountant/Business Office Specialist maintains records of all financial transactions for the District, and ensures that appropriate actions are taken to justify expenditures and accurately track revenues.

Reporting to Chief Financial Officer, you will maintain the District's official accounting records and systems, prepare financial reports and account reconciliations. You will provide analytical assistance relating to financial issues. You must be an accounting software super user. You will serve as a lead to financial auditors for preparation of annual audit.

This Exempt position is scheduled to work 40 hours per week, 260 days per year. The specific work schedule will be determined upon hire. The annual salary range is $54,537 - $69,097. The District pays the full premium for medical, dental, vision and Life Insurance. This position qualifies for PERSI retirement.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting or business required
  • Certified Public Accountant, preferred
  • Strong knowledge in GAAP, preferred
  • Knowledge of accounting software, Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts related to accounting.
  • Ability to reason, compile information from multiple sources, and interpret data in a variety of formats
