BASIC SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the City Manager’s Office, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) provides strategic leadership and hands-on financial management. The CFO is responsible for overseeing all financial functions, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, debt and treasury management, purchasing, revenue collection, and financial reporting. This position is both strategic and operational, requiring a hands-on approach to daily financial activities while advising on long-term fiscal planning.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field. At least seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in municipal finance, accounting, or a related field, with at least five (5) years in a leadership or management role. Must possess a valid State of Texas Driver’s License and have the ability to pass a background check, and pre-employment drug screening.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Public Finance Officer (CPFO), or Certified Government Finance Officer (CGFO) designation.
  • Experience in a fast-growing municipality or managing financial aspects of economic development projects.
