                      Applications Open for 2026 Academic Scholarships
Each year, these scholarships support students who aspire to careers in state, provincial, or local government finance. We offer 11 scholarships across five categories totaling more than $100,000. If you’re studying government finance, public service, governmental accounting, or public administration, please apply. The deadline is December 31, 2025.

                      Research Rewind: The Root of Local Government Revenues

                      FLC Update: One Big Beautiful Bill Act
On July 4, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA) was signed into law. GFOA is continuing to assess the implications of the budget reconciliation bill. While GFOA members’ advocacy efforts – including telling your stories at builtbybonds.com – resulted in the full preservation of tax-exempt municipal bonds, there are several other provisions of note.
