Senior Accounting Technician Salary $69,438.93 – $88,623.39 Annual
The position opens Tuesday, September 18, 2018 and the final filing date is Monday, October 8, 2018 at 5:00 pm or after receiving 100 qualified applicants, whichever is first. The current list will be used for the following three (3) vacancies and may be used for future vacancies. Non-Utility Revenue & Special Projects – technicians assigned to this division are responsible for maintaining and updating the City's Accounts Receivable (A/R) system; reviewing and processing billings; conducting A/R, fee and tax audits; inputting data for payments and tax remittances received; sending delinquent accounts to collections; compiling data for reports and answering inbound A/R phone calls. Accounting & Financial Services – Technicians assigned to this division are responsible for preparing and maintaining the City's accounting records and financial transactions; positing daily cash receipts; completing bank reconciliations; detailed to control general ledger account reconciliations; researching and resolving discrepancies; maintaining and handling large volume data; and generating queries to retrieve data and for input. Utility Billing – Technicians assigned to this division will provide support to the City's utility billing process. Job responsibilities include data entry, review and update of billing rates, establishment of utility accounts, account reconciliation, and general review of the account billing process. This position is very fast paced, and requires a high level of interaction with other department and a high level of attention to detail. Requires: Graduation from high school or tested equivalent; AND Three years of progressively responsible technical accounting support experience, with at least two years specific to assigned functional area, including automated financial systems.
