The City of Camas is seeking an Assistant Finance Director. The position will work 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. This is an exempt, non-represented position and is eligible for a full benefits package.
This position will report to the Finance Director and is responsible for directing, managing and supervising the operations of the accounting, reporting, budgeting and financial transactions in the Finance Department; and responsible for providing highly responsible and complex administrative support to the Finance Director and City departments. This position will act in the capacity of the Finance Director in the Finance Director’s absence.
The ideal candidate shall possess education equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or Public Administration with continuing education in finance, accounting, and information technology related subjects. A Master’s degree and/or Certified Public Accountant credential is highly desirable. Candidates shall have five years of increasingly responsible professional accounting or financial management experience, with a minimum of two years of proven supervisory responsibility/leadership capabilities and financial reporting preparation. Governmental accounting experience is highly desirable.
