Alisha Gamble

Alisha Gamble is Finance Director for Jackson County, Georgia where she is responsible for overseeing a local budget of $90 million and payroll administration for over 500 employees. Alisha’s goal is to ensure efficient and transparent fiscal responsibility and reporting for the Jackson County community. Her department is responsible for collecting, processing, advising, informing, monitoring, analyzing, coordinating, and reporting financial information and management data to ensure the effective and economical use of public resources. Alisha started her local government career in 2008 as a Staff Auditor for RL Jennings & Company in Ellijay, Georgia working with non-profit and local government audit clients. After three years of hands on auditing experience, she joined the City of Gainesville, Georgia as a Financial Analyst, which she held this position from 2011-2017. In this role, she focused on capital project quarterly and annual reporting, debt payments and scheduling, and served as Grant Administrator for capital projects. She also worked closely with the annual audit process for all city funds and assisted with capital assets reporting for the annual audit. Alisha progressed to Budget and Purchasing Manager with the City of Gainesville in 2016. She then proceeded to a position as Finance Director for the City of Flowery Branch, Georgia, from June 2017 -July 2022. While working with the City of Flowery Branch, she led the city to submit and receive its first GFOA Distinguished Budget Award and the city’s first submittal of the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report for the Certificate of Achievement in Excellence in Financial Reporting for 2022. Alisha has served in several positions with the Georgia Government Finance Officers Association (GGFOA) such as 2018-2019 President, 1st Vice President, 2nd Vice President, Treasurer, Director and Communications Chair for GGFOA since 2011. Alisha is a graduate of the inaugural cohort of the Public Finance Leadership Academy through UGA Carl Vinson Institute of Government January 2021 – June 2021. Alisha also volunteers and enjoys working with her fellow committee members on the GFOA Accounting, Auditing, and Financial Reporting Committee (AAFRC). Alisha is currently working towards her CPFO certification through GFOA. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, baseball games, hiking, backpacking, camping and making many memories with family and friends on outdoor adventures.
