Lauren Haddox
Director of Risk & Benefits Management, School District of Osceola County, Florida
Lauren Haddox has worked for SDOC for nearly thirty years. Her career began with an internship in the Risk & Benefits Department while pursuing her degree at the University of Central Florida. Lauren’s career growth has ultimately led her to her current role of four years, the Director of Risk & Benefits Management, part of the senior leadership team with the School District. One of Lauren’s greatest accomplishments was developing, building, implementing, and overseeing the Center for Employee Health, the School District's own on-site medical center. This center opened in 2016 and has become a comprehensive onsite medical center focused on advanced primary care. In 2019, under Lauren’s leadership, the School District’s health plan transitioned away from a “traditional” health plan with an insurance company to a high-performance health plan owned by the district. This innovative health plan has changed the healthcare trend from out-of-control increases and decreased benefits to a plan with better benefits at a lower cost.
In 2023, Lauren was recognized by Employee Benefit News (EBN) for her Excellence in Benefits. In 2024. The School District of Osceola County was a Finalist for a Rosie Award from Health Rosetta. The Rosie Award recognizes the best health plans in the county.
