Jack Rakers, CPA, CIA, CISA, is the chief internal auditor for the State of Illinois Department of Central Management Services, which oversees state administrative services including human resources, benefits, facilities management, diversity leadership, procurement coordination, fleet management, surplus property, communications, and administrative hearings. Jack led efforts to modernize and implement a statewide internal control checklist including risk assessment. He is passionate about improving audit processes, ensuring training and mentorship to advance the internal controls profession, and championing transparency, efficiency, and accountability in state and local government. Before joining CMS, he specialized in information technology and pension audits.
