Kirsten C. Decker

Kirsten C. Decker is a local government leader with a keen ability to facilitate the connection between traditionally siloed areas of public policy and management, connect resources to organizational priorities and establish meaningful methods of measuring public services and community outcomes.
Kirsten has led government organizations to address changing community needs by rethinking financial decision-making systems, identifying efficiencies and aligning daily actions with desired outcomes. She currently serves as the Director of Organizational Strategy & Development for the 27-branch, 700+ employee Denver Public Library System.
Kirsten holds a B.A. in Political Science from Colorado State University and a Master of Public Administration(MPA) from the Edwin O. Stene School of Public Affairs and Administration at the University of Kansas. She currently chairs the International City & County Management Association (ICMA) Performance Management Advisory Committee and serves as Chair of the Denver Women’s Commission.
Kirsten is recognized as an ICMA Woman to Know, an ELGL Trager Local Government Influencer, a Local Government 2030 Delegate, a recipient of the University of Kansas MPA Alumni Association’s Award for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and, in 2016, received the Medallion for Meritorious Service Award from Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake.
