Michelle Chasse is a civil servant for the County of Maui Finance Department serving as the Accounting System Assistant Administrator. Prior to joining the County of Maui finance team in June of 2019, she served in local government in the State of Alaska. She has over 15 years of service in government finance. Throughout her career she has served as the project manager on numerous system conversion projects for payroll, time tracking, purchasing, and general ledger systems. She has overcome the challenges of moving centralized finance services from hard copy paper processes to 100% electronic processing. Having had experience transitioning finance operations to a fully electronic process, she can appreciate the challenges of implementing change to allow for a smooth transition to current day technology. Realizing the cost savings associated with implementation of electronic processing has been one of her most rewarding accomplishments, allowing for more resources to be available in the communities in which Michelle has served.
