Kela Y. Pryor has over 25 years in accounting and financial management. She currently serves as the Controller for Fulton County, Georgia. Formally, she was the Director of Finance and Treasurer for the City of Bessemer, Alabama, where she was responsible for coordinating and directing the fiscal management and administrative functions of the City. This included overseeing the divisions of Accounting, Budgeting, Revenue, Tax and Administration, Treasury, Accounts Payable, Purchasing, Human Resources, and Payroll. Prior to joining the City of Bessemer, Kela served as the Chief Accountant for the City of Birmingham and as Controller for the Birmingham Parking Authority. Kela is an alumna of Leadership Hoover, Alabama. Kela is the past Finance Chair and Board member of the City of Bessemer Area Chamber of Commerce. Kela is the past Finance Chair for the Leadership Council of the United Negro College Fund Birmingham. Kela is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Government Finance Officers Association. Kela serves on GFOA's Accounting, Auditing, and Financial Reporting Committee. Kela has a degree in Business Administration from the University of Alabama and is a Certified Public Accountant licensed the state of Alabama and Georgia.
