Diane Waldron

Diane Waldron is currently the Comptroller for the City of Bristol in Connecticut. Diane has over thirty years of experience in government finance as a Director of Finance in four other communities in Connecticut that includes Glastonbury, Cheshire, Woodbridge and North Branford. She has extensive experience in pension and benefits and has implemented a number of plan design changes and cost saving initiatives in both areas. In addition she has received the GFOA Awards for Financial Reporting and Budget, is instrumental in the annual budget process, capital and debt financing and policy development in a number of areas.

Diane has her Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Fairfield University and is a Certified Public Accountant. Prior to her government experience she worked for Deloitte and Touche. She has also attended the GFOA Advanced Government Finance Institute at the University of Wisconsin.

Diane is a member of the Government Finance Officers’ Association and serves on the GFOA Committee on Retirement and Benefits Administration and the Women’s Public Finance Network. She is a past president for the Connecticut Government Finance Officers’ Association and the New England Government Finance Officers’ Association and continues to serve as a board member for both organizations. She is a Governor appointee to the State of Connecticut Municipal Finance Advisory Commission that oversees municipalities in fiscal distress and serves on the Executive Board of the Connecticut Public Pension Forum.
