CPFO Spotlight: Audrey Danek
Audrey Danek, MPA, CPFO, is debt analyst for the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority.
1. Why did you want to become a CPFO?
I think many of us come into the government finance through one discipline, and get minor exposure to the other aspects. Going through this process allowed me to understand what others in my department are doing and how it all fits together.
2. What did you learn going through the process?
Studying to be a CPFO forced me to learn about all the different facets of the profession. The videos and other learning materials made difficult subjects easy to understand.
3. How has becoming a CPFO made an impact on you in your profession?
I hope to use my certification to further my career in different areas of government finance.
4. What would you say to others thinking about becoming a CPFO?
I definitely recommend the certification for anyone interested in learning about all areas of government finance.
