Pinellas County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller’s Office Finance Division is looking for a detail oriented and collaborative Financial Accounting Manager to join our team. The Financial Accounting Manager directly supervises and manages our financial reporting team which is responsible for the accurate preparation of the County’s comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR), in addition to other critical areas including cash management, investments, debt management, and contract monitoring. The Financial Accounting Manager leads a team of six professional accountants with the responsibility for the accurate and timely production of the County’s CAFR, year-end closings, contract monitoring, and other regulatory and financial reporting tasks, as well as the successful research and resolution of all discrepancies. This position requires thorough knowledge and experience in the application of generally accepted accounting principles, government accounting and financial reporting, and federal and state reporting. Additional skills and attributes include the ability to plan, organize, and coordinate the technical work of accountants and provide technical training as well as the ability to analyze complex financial information with attention to detail to accurately prepare complex financial and administrative reports.
Highly Desirable: • Bachelor’s degree in accounting with a minimum of 5 years extensive experience in related areas. • Possession of a current license as a certified public accountant (CPA). • Experience utilizing Oracle eBusiness Suite for payroll and financials.
