The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) was signed into law on November 15, 2021. This legislation includes $50 billion for water/wastewater infrastructure, distributed over 5 years, and many states have started to prepare for their allocation of the funds. This historic investment in water and wastewater infrastructure has raised lots of questions for water and wastewater utilities. When will projects begin? What funding programs will be open?
