Special Recognition in Budget Presentation: Long-Range Plans

The focus of this training will be on presentation of long-range financial plans in the budget document. Find out what other government do to achieve a high level of success in this category and how they are able to communicate long-term revenue and expense forecasts, the impact of current decisions on issues that effect long-term sustainability, and communication of factors that involve uncertainty. Examples budget documents submitted to GFOA's Distinguished Budget Presentation Award program that receive high marks from judges will be highlighted and speakers will provide recommendations for how you too can produce a budget document worthy of "special recognition." Attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions and get specific guidance on GFOA's award program and award program criteria.
