FAQs for WPFN CPFO Scholarships

Who is eligible for the Women’s Public Finance Network (WPFN) Certified Public Finance Officer (CPFO) scholarship?

The scholarship is available to WPFN members who are not a current CPFO program participant. Submit an application here.

Do I need to be a GFOA member?

Yes. In order to be a member of WPFN and to receive the CPFO scholarship, you must be a GFOA member.

Can I apply for the WPFN CPFO scholarship as well as other CPFO scholarships (offered through state GFOA associations or other GFOA networking groups)?

You may apply to multiple scholarships. However, only one scholarship will be awarded. For example, if you received a CPFO scholarship through GFOA’s LGBTQIA+ Caucus, then you will not receive a scholarship through WPFN.

WPFN will award up to 5 scholarships.

What does the WPFN CPFO scholarship cover?

The scholarship will cover the $1,200 fee for two years of enrollment in the CPFO program, which includes ten exam attempts, eLearning course credits, a 25 percent discount on the electronic GAAFR Blue Book, and access to a CPFO Exam Prep product with over twenty recorded seminars.

What is the application deadline?

Please apply by March 31.

When will scholarships be announced?

WPFN scholarship recipients will be announced in the WPFN online Community discussion forum on May 1 and will also be recognized in the WPFN Newsletter on May 19.
