Diane Allison, CPA, CGMA, CGFO, Assistant Legislative Auditor and Director of Local Government Services, Louisiana Legislative Auditor

In her current position, Diane Allison assists 3,600 local governments and 280 audit firms, provides education outreach to local government staff, elected officials, auditors, and the public, and leads the Center for Local Government Excellence training programs. As a GFOA member for seventeen years, she currently serves as chair of GFOA’s Committee on Accounting, Auditing, and Financial Reporting and is a member and past committee member of GFOA’s Women’s Public Finance Network. Allison is the past recipient of the “Pelican” Award from the Louisiana GFOA, “Woman to Watch–Experienced Leader” Award from the Society of Louisiana CPAs, and “Member of the Year” Award from the New Orleans chapter of the Accounting and Financial Women’s Alliance. She has presented at over seventy professional association conferences. Her goals for GFOA are to harness the potential of artificial intelligence to enhance government efficiency and confront workforce shortages, advocating for practical uses of AI in public finance.
