Elizabeth Reich Testifies on Behalf of GFOA
On March 11, 2021, the House Ways and Means Subcommittee on Select Revenue Measures held a virtual hearing on tax tools supporting city and county governments. GFOA member Elizabeth Reich, who currently serves as chief financial officer for the City of Dallas, Texas, testified before the committee to highlight public finance priorities. Additionally, the hearing allowed state and local finance experts to offer their perspectives to lawmakers over the current state of city and county budgets a year into the pandemic and how federal tax tools can help support local governments’ infrastructure investment and green development.
