House Passes Relief Bill

On February 27, lawmakers in the House passed a nearly $1.9 trillion relief package featuring many relief initiatives supported by the White House. The bill will now head to the Senate for consideration as Congress works to produce one unified reconciliation bill.

Leaders in Congress have set March 14 as a target deadline for bill passage to avoid the expiration of vital unemployment aid programs.  Please see GFOA’s earlier release for details over the bill.

The Federal Liaison Center continues to monitor Congressional activity.
