Job Description

This position is also recognized as a seasoned and fully proficient financial administrator, analyst, and accountant. This position requires a self-directed and motivated employee.

  • Assist the Controller/Treasurer in carrying out the functional and operational responsibilities of the department in accordance with sound cash management and financial principles in accordance with City, State, Federal laws, internal auditing, GAAP, and GASB principles
  • Ensure a high degree of accuracy and quality in financial documents
  • Provide assistance with investment management, cash flow projections, pension trusts, and debt management and reporting
  • Coordinate the timing of interfund transfers and investment redemptions and purchases and manages the research, analysis, and data gathering for financial policy issues
  • Oversee the preparation of policies summarizing findings and recommendations
  • Manage all third-party contracts and request for proposals for all banking services, investment advisory services, trust services and consultants
  • Responsible for cash transfers between City bank accounts and establishing electronic payments
  • Supervise the accounts payable and payroll personnel

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Five (5) years of financial and accounting experience
  • Five plus (5+) years in management/supervisory capacity
