Director of Finance
Community Transit is seeking a Director of Finance. The Director of Finance manages and directs all aspects of the agency’s finance division, including budget and special projects, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, grants and asset management teams and processes. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and working closely with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and executive team, oversees, analyzes, and interprets the agency’s financial position, and directs the development and administration of the agency’s annual budget to align with the agency’s long term financial strategies and transit development plan. This position will lead a large professional finance team with five direct reports.
The selected candidate will be a leader in cultivating and elevating the organization’s commitment to equity, inclusion, innovation, collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement. They will have a demonstrated background in exercising accountability at all levels while creating a place where people can do their best work. The Director of Finance should have experience leading complex financial functions, preferably with some level of public sector expertise. Experience in public transportation is helpful but is certainly not required. Experience in assessing and implementing financial systems, including an ERP is favorable. Demonstrated experience in budget and grant management will be essential.
