Deputy Chief Financial Officer
The County of Yolo is currently recruiting for the position of Deputy Chief Financial Officer. This recruitment will be open until Friday, September 5, 2025.
With a population of just over 225,000, Yolo County is a naturally beautiful and richly diverse county. It is one of the leading agricultural producers in the nation with 661,000 acres that are used primarily for farming and ranching. The County seat is located in Woodland, which is just 20 miles northwest of the State Capitol of Sacramento. Proximity to the Sacramento International Airport and two major highways places Yolo County within a major transportation hub. Recreational activities include whitewater rafting and kayaking along Cache Creek, bicycling on scenic country roads and bike paths, and fishing and water-skiing along the Sacramento River. An abundance of academic and cultural resources are located within the County, such as the University of California, Davis with 35,000 acres and the Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts, a world-class performance center and concert hall.
Under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer, the Deputy Chief Financial Officer assists with the overall management and administration of the Department of Financial Services; assists in the evaluation, development and implementation of departmental and Countywide financial goals, policies and procedures; oversees day-to-day operations within the Department of Financial Services; develops and maintains positive working relationships with County leadership, department heads and fiscal staff; leads and coordinates cross-functional teams on special projects and strategic initiatives; performs highly complex fiscal analysis in support of department operations and County initiatives; represents the Department of Financial Services before the Board of Supervisors, department leadership, and other advisory groups and commissions; and acts as department head in the absence of the Chief Financial Officer.
