Job Description
The City of Bothell is hiring a Finance Manager to help shape our city’s financial future. We’re seeking a strategic leader to guide long-term fiscal policy, provide expert analysis to City leadership, and manage key financial programs.

WHAT WILL YOU DO IN THIS POSITION?
- Strategic Thinking: Develop and defend strategic financial policies with long-term impacts on the City’s resource planning and fiscal sustainability.
- Financial Expertise: Deliver expert financial analysis and recommendations to City leadership, including forecasting, economic evaluations, and funding strategies.
- Operational Expertise: Oversee key financial operations and programs, including utility rates, cost allocation, contracts, and capital financing agreements.
- Leadership: Lead and collaborate across departments, manage teams, and guide staff to align with strategic financial and operational goals.
- Communication: Served as a key financial spokesperson, communicated complex financial matters clearly, and upheld confidentiality and professionalism.
A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE IN THIS POSITION WILL:
- Develop and strengthen internal and external relationships by collaborating to achieve effective agreements and foster mutual trust and goodwill
- Ensure clear and efficient communication of information and ideas through diverse communication channels.
- Apply objective reasoning and action, maintaining perspective when evaluating both qualitative and quantitative information.
- Consistently lead by example, embody the City’s core values, and help others understand and prioritize the organization’s vision and values in all decisions and actions.
- Utilize a thoughtful and strategic approach to reduce conflict, fostering collaboration between individuals through appropriate communication methods and interpersonal techniques, while handling challenging situations with professionalism, impartiality, and objectivity.
A Master’s Degree in Public Administration or a closely related field and Certified Public Accountant (CPA)/Certified Public Finance Officer (CPFO) designation are highly desirable.
