Job Description

The Community Services Department is seeking a Program Manager III - Community Services - Budget. The Community Services Department builds resilient communities by cultivating healthy bodies and curious minds. Our Library and Recreation programs make a key difference in improving the lives of our community. The ideal candidate will not only embody these values but will also have extensive experience in developing and administering the budget of a City or County department and coaching and mentoring staff. This position depends heavily on developing trusting personal relationships between and among department staff and stakeholders. The Program Manager III - Community Services - Budget typically works a 5-day, 40 hour -work week, Mondays – Fridays and may be required to work additional hours and/or weekends as needed by the department. A flexible schedule is possible and can be negotiated. This position reports directly to the Community Services Director and is a key member of the Department's Executive Team.


Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in business or public administration or a closely related field, or the field of the program to which assigned, and four (4) years of experience managing or supervising highly visible programs or projects with major departmental or citywide impact. Specified positions may require possession of a valid California Class C driver's license.
