Junelyn Segui has recently been promoted to Manager, Accounting I in the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office. Prior to this position she serves as an emergency manager for the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office of Emergency Services. In her position Segui manages emergency planning, response and recovery programs. During her tenure, Segui has worked on a variety of natural and human caused incidents and disasters like wildland fires, debris flows and hazardous materials events. Segui has also managed public assistance programs for three presidential disasters. During the Thomas Fire and Woolsey Fire, Segui was instrumental in successfully leading the Ventura County Emergency Operations Center Finance Section. She also manages the Thomas Fire and Woolsey Fire public assistance program which is crucial for Ventura County’s recovery.
A native of the Philippines, Segui obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Business Economics from the University of the Philippines and her Master’s degree in Finance from the Pennsylvania State University. Segui has also attended a variety of emergency management schools and training programs, to include Texas A&M’s Enhanced Incident Command course and the National Grants Management program.
Segui serves as a 2nd Class Petty Officer in the United States Navy Reserves based at Naval Air Station Point Mugu. During her service, Segui has participated in numerous training opportunities to include an overseas detachment to Italy.
