With the list of ransomware and other cyberattacks on local government getting longer and longer, the importance of bulking up cybersecurity protection is escalating—even as COVID-19 and the country’s economic downturn drain resources. In researching this column, the most repeated phrase we heard about the potential for attack was “It’s not if, it’s when."
