Through partnership with Local Government Professionals Australia, NSW, GFOA is offering an invaluable opportunity for anyone who works in the field of government finance to learn from peers in Australia.

Scholarship Includes
- Round trip economy airfare to the conference location.
- Four night's accommodation at the conference venue
- Assistance with introductions to Australian local governments if you would like to extend your stay post conference.
- Up to $800 to cover incidentals during the stay (to avoid tax implications must submit receipts over $25)
The scholarship recipient is responsible for any additional travel or accommodation requirements pre and post conference. Should delegates wish to upgrade from standard economy seats, this is at their own expense and is not eligible for re-imbursement. Delegates should also arrange for their own travel insurance.
Eligibility
Applicants must be a GFOA member who is registered for the 2024 GFOA annual conference in Orlando, FL.
Expectations of the Recipient
The LG Professionals, New South Wales, selected Richard Sheridan, Director of City Performance, Bayside Council as the scholarship recipient to attend the 2024 GFOA conference in Orlando, FL. The GFOA scholarship recipient should plan to meet with Richard at the conference and introduce him to peers.
The scholarship recipient will also be required to:
- Write an article for GFOA newsletter or GFR on the experience in Australia
- Present at the 2025 GFOA conference in Washington, DC.
- Promote the scholarship on LinkedIn while attending the Conference
