Our Definition for Diversity
Definitions deeply connected to our purpose, which will guide how we engage with and foster diversity, equity, and inclusion.
What we mean by diversity: The presence of differences within a setting. The categories of identity that inform our unique experiences, backgrounds, and self-understanding. These include, but are not limited to, characteristics such as ability, age, background, ethnicity, experience, family structure, gender, gender expression, geographic location, language, national origin, political views, race, religion, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status and veteran status.
Diversity commitment: We commit to increasing and celebrating diversity within our membership and the profession. Representation matters and greater collective diversity strengthens our work as public servants. We will pursue deliberate actions that further increase the diversity of our membership base and attracts more diverse talent into the profession– making government finance a career of choice for all.
