Contributions to the Profession/Jurisdiction

  • First female treasurer/finance director in York County, South Carolina, and the first female CFO for the City of Rock Hill, South Carolina
  • Member of GFOA South Carolina since 1992; served as president in 2020 and re-elected in 2021; served as secretary in 2004
  • Member of the following organizations: Municipal Association of South Carolina and serves on numerous committees; South Carolina Association of CPAs (served on the Board of Directors from 2007 to 2009); South Carolina Association of Counties; American Institute of CPAs; Westminster Presbyterian Church (serves on Budget Committee); Westminster Towers Retirement Community (first female Chairman of the Board - 2021)
  • In 2021 named as Distinguished Graduate by Winthrop University—School of Business Administration
  • Named CFO of the Year for the Non-Profit/Government category by the Charlotte Business Journal in 2017
  • Received the American Institute of CPAs Outstanding CPA in Local Government Award in 2015 and honored by resolution of the South Carolina House of Representatives for award
  • Received the Woman to Watch Award from the South Carolina Society of CPAs in 2012
  • CPA, CGFO-SC certifications

Goals for GFOA

GFOA has an opportunity, learned through COVID, to diversify services through virtual training opportunities. I believe GFOA can expand its membership by providing virtual training to younger professionals, possibly at lower levels in government organizations.
