Rob Jarzombek

Rob Jarzombek is Chief of the Health Account Management Division for the California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS).

Rob oversees member and employer support and services for the $9.2 billion, 1.5 million-member CalPERS Health Benefits Program.

Under Rob’s leadership, his team provides resources and support to 1,200 public agency and school employers that contract with CalPERS for health benefits, as well as the State of California and California State University. He is responsible for the education and administration of the Public Employees’ Medical and Hospital Care Act (PEMHCA) program with employers, management of health benefits enrollment, CalPERS annual Open Enrollment period, and serving as the health benefits officer for retiree members of the health program.

Rob has been with CalPERS for more than 10 years and has served in a variety of customer service roles to members and employers. Prior to CalPERS, Rob served as a Russian Interpreter in the U.S. Air Force. He earned a bachelor’s degree in liberal studies from Excelsior College, and completed the Advanced Russian Language Immersion Course at Moscow State University.
