Rethinking Budgeting Readiness Workshop (Orlando)

GFOA event for local governments to assess current budget practices and identify where to start in adopting Rethinking Budgeting practices.

Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) is excited to invite you and your team to participate in a first-of-its-kind Rethinking Budgeting Readiness Workshop!

This regional workshop is an invitation-only educational event for local government organizations in the Orlando area.

We will be working through GFOA’s new Readiness Assessment tool to help you assess your current budgeting processes and identify the right place to start when rethinking budgeting.

Session Overview

Join us for the day and come away with:

  • An understanding of the scope and benefits of the Rethinking Budgeting recommendations
  • An overview of the current state of your budgeting processes
  • Specific focus areas and recommended next steps, tailored to your organization
  • Supporting resources from the GFOA and partners
  • A local network for ongoing collaboration around new budgeting practice

This is a GFOA event hosted by the University of Central Florida School of Public Affairs, and in collaboration with Envisio, ResourceX, and Polco, who have been involved in the creation of the Readiness Assessment tool.

The event is free to attend–however we request that you and your team members register in advance. Spaces are limited and registration will close when all spaces are filled.

Absolutely! This workshop is open to all local government leaders in the Orlando area, regardless of department or GFOA membership.

Due to the holistic nature of the Rethinking Budgeting recommendations, we request that you bring leaders from different areas of your organizations, including your city/county management office, finance team, community engagement, and strategy, performance, and innovation teams (if applicable).

We recommend a maximum number of 5 people from each organization. 3-5 attendees from your organization is ideal for this interactive and collaborative day.

Yes. You can register additional team members later–however, please note that spaces are limited and registration will close when all spaces are filled. All team members registered from the same organizations will be seated together for this collaborative workshop.
