Senate Committee Approves Transportation Authorization Bill
On May 26, the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works unanimously passed a bill authorizing over $300 billion out of the Highway Trust Fund over the next five years. The Surface Transportation Reauthorization Act of 2021 (STRA-21) includes:
- A new bridge investment program
- A new program for investment into infrastructure “resilience”
- Increased funding for existing infrastructure grant programs
