Can't Attend Your Training Event?
If you have registered for a GFOA training event and can no longer attend, GFOA offers several options for you or your organization to take advantage of the opportunity.
Transfer Your Registration to a Different Individual
To transfer your existing training registration to a different individual who is also employed by the same organization, please email the following information to training@gfoa.org at least five (5) business days before the event.
- Name of person currently registered
- Event name and date
- Person to transfer registration to. If a current GFOA member, please include member number. If member number is not known, please include title, address, phone, and email.
Transfer Your Registration to a Future Event
To transfer your existing training registration to a future event, please email the following information to training@gfoa.org at least five (5) business days before the event.
- Name of person currently registered
- Current event
- Event to transfer into.
Note: If the price of both events is not the same, GFOA will either process the change and maintain credit on the member's account or invoice the member. Once processed, members may then pay invoices through GFOA's membership system.
Training Refunds
Refund requests must be made in writing to GFOA by email to training@gfoa.org. GFOA charges an administrative fee for all refunds. Members may transfer training registration to another event up to the refund deadline without incurring an administrative fee.

Registration Discounts
Select events offer registration discounts to encourage early registration. GFOA's events calendar will display current pricing and pricing is subject to change.
GFOA members will typically receive a discount for all events. GFOA allows active members (public sector) to transfer membership discount to another current employee of the same organization. For non-members to receive the member discount, please register by emailing a completed registration form to training@gfoa.org.
Administrative Details
Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Certificates:
CPE credit will be awarded through the Learning Management System (LMS).
Course recordings and materials of most GFOA online education is made available through the Learning Management System. Materials for non-accounting courses will be available for one year after the completion of the course. Materials for accounting courses will be available for 90 days after the completion of the course.
Please note that CPE credits are not awarded for viewing archived recordings.
Meals:
Continental breakfast and lunch are included in the registration fee for full day in-person courses.
Facilities:
GFOA in-person training is typically taught in a classroom style setting. Training rooms accommodate between 15 and 100 individuals depending on the class. GFOA does not provide handouts for training materials. Attendees are encouraged to bring laptops or tablets to take notes or reference materials during the class and all materials are posted to the LMS for download. Note: Access to charging stations may be limited.
