U.S. Treasury Celebrates Two Year Anniversary of ARPA

March 11, 2023, marked two years since the enactment of the American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act. Most notably for GFOA members, was the inclusion of $350 billion in the State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund (SLFRF). Recently, GFOA published a report highlighting the results of a member survey that allowed nearly four hundred recipients to share their thoughts on the use of SLFRF dollars. The primary takeaway was that local governments have been and continue to use SLFRF dollars to the benefit of their localities and residents. For example, over 45% of respondents reported utilizing funds for infrastructure investments, 38% utilized funds toward public safety, and nearly 28% utilized funds for government operations investments.
