Where We’ll Start:
Communicate. Clearly communicate our intent, approach, and key priorities with our key stakeholders to build alignment and inspire engagement in our efforts.
Listen. Establish new and more consistent channels of communication with affinity-based networking groups, standing committees, and State Associations to enhance our understanding of DEI-related challenges facing these groups. Partner with GFOA to launch a member survey to hear member perceptions and experiences as it relates to DEI.
Assess. Informed by our listening exercises, we’ll work with GFOA leadership to define measurable goals for DEI and provide recommendations for specific actions the committee and board can lead to impact the goals.
